independence paraglider: Zippy PT

We have a groundbreaking new beginners paraglider. The glide ratio of the Zippy PT is reducible on two levels by up to 2.5 and its sink rate is increasable by up to 0.4 m/s. Therefor Zippy is equipped with performance trims (PT) on its upper surface (patent pending). These can be activated simply by opening zippers before take-off.

The Ultimate Beginners' Wing Zippy PT (LTF/EN A)

The effect of the performance trims is advantageous, not only at the schooling stage in steep exercise areas, but also for high-altitude training! Activating the performance trims on days with strong thermals considerably improves passive safety even for the more adventurous licensed pilots.

When the performance trims are deactivated the Zippy PT is a high-end paraglider for beginners allowing excellent performance. This promises lots of fun for leisure pilots during, and even after, schooling.

Features
  • High-performance paraglider for beginners with unique, variable glide ratio
  • Clearly labelled and colour marked risers with 3 line levels
  • Weight-optimised material and design
  • Easy to handle take-off characteristics
  • Also available as paramotor edition (different risers and wider speed range)
FAQ

Zippy PT has distinct self-stabilising flight characteristics, thus is very fault-tolerant regarding steering mistakes during take-off and flight. Handling is smooth and has a subtle modulation.

With activated performance trims (2 levels) the wing is accelerated a little bit and particularly it is much more stable. Choppy air streams get smoothed by the performance trims and it is almost impossible for the pilot to draw a frontal or asymmetric collapse.

Especially the two-level performance trims (PT), which can be activated according to the pilots' capability and flight conditions. So the pilot can fly with either four, two or no PTs activated. The PT are activated/deactivated simply by opening respectively closing the zippers before take-off.

The PT cause:

  • Reduction of gliding performance by up to 2.5
  • Increase of sink rate by up to 0.4 m/s

Thus you have three gliders in one! Depending on flight conditions you can increase the passive safety on days with strong thermals by activating the PTs.

For paragliding schools the big advantage of Zippy PT is, that the pilot trainees can still fly when the conditions are getting "too good" to fly with a normal A-wing at the training slope, without having them flying too far away. Thus flying Zippy PT results in a bigger time frame for schooling and more training flights.

Its particular facile take-off handling even starts with easy assorting of lines. Only 3 carrying straps with 2 lower lines each, make it easy and especially for beginners stress-free, to assort lines.

Due to its low weight and shape stable nylon rods within the leading edge, Zippy PT fills up perfectly during take-off.

First of all that depends on your personal requirements, too. Zippy PT with deactivated PTs provides considerable performance! Thus it is well suitable for your first distance flights . These facts make Cruiser³ a constant companion not only to casual pilots.

On days with strong thermals the PTs will provide additional passive safety even after schooling. Thus Zippy PT is suitable even for the more adventurous licensed pilots with only little experience considering thermal flights or for infrequent pilots, who go flying after having paused for a while.

For Zippy PT we have chosen material, which offered an ideal compromise on weight reduction, durability and robustness.

Every material we use is made by leading manufacturers, whom we have been working and cooperating with in development issues for many years. A solid basis for high quality and for your long lasting enjoyment of flying Zippy PT.
