SPORTSTER - The new Sports class generation by Independence

Expected for a long time: The SPORTSTER With this performance glider we have taken a lot of time for detailed tests and comparative flights that we can present a technically sophisticated and highly competitive sports wing to the pilots.

At the Sportster our designer team used for the first time flexible synthetic rods in the profile nose. This technology raises the profile loyalty and as well as the stability of the leading edge. The rods are substantially less sensitive than the Mylar reinforcements used up to now the profiles. With a bit of careful treatment it keeps the exact designed shape for the whole life of span of the paraglider. To grant the profile nose the best possible protection the Sportster is delivered serially with specially developed magic Bag.

The advantages of this technology are superb take off behavior, improved stability on accelerated flying and during turbulences. The risen profile loyalty improves the aerodynamic and with it substantially the performance of the Sportster. The drag and turbulences of the canopy are minimized by the use of the extremely lightweighted and long lasting SkySilk fabric. In combination with a high number of cells (62) uncovered lines, thin risers and a aspect ratio of 6,0 it was possible to transfer this huge potential on this sporty LTF / EN C paraglider. Thanks to the use of this high tech materials the weight of the Sportster is only 5,8 kg.

The Sportster fascinates not only by his fantastic glide, he is playing his strengths also in thermals. With a fine, direct and uncomplicated handling he can be turned easy and efficient in thermals. The Sportster provides the pilot immediately a good feeling also in bumpy situations. Moreover the Sportster distinguishes itself by an uncomplicated behavior in extreme flight situations.

However the Sportster was conceived for experienced and ambitious XC pilots he is also well suited for upward climbing pilots from the LTF / EN B segment.

In all three available sizes the Sportster is LTF / EN C claffified and covers a weight range of 60 kg up to 130 kg.
