New: Annular now remastered as "Annular classic": also equipped with the opening-accelerating "Ram-Air-Pockets" now!!

The Annulars are top level in the Independence reserve range. Its special annular (round) shape carries 35 % more load compared to conventional reserve parachutes with the same square measure. The Annulars container was developed especially for opening in low speed. The opening speed and safety was increased immensely. Up to now these were the disadvantages of conventional reserves compared to double canopies. The special container system eliminates these problems, respectively they have turned to its advantage.

Another disadvantage of the double canopy system is the load. Thats why we stopped the production of the Columbus 5 years ago. We have obviously increased the pendulum stability and reduced the angle between rescue system and paraglider through its canopy shape to a minimum. The Annulars stand out because of their light weight and small packing.

For heavier pilots and motor paragliders we have developed the Annular 24. Even though the Annular 22s resistance would be sufficient enough, we specially made a larger canopy. If it comes down to it the Annular 24s descending speed is lower. In most cases you cannot discard the motor, so you have to stand an emergency landing with 30 kg on your back. Normally a classical landing with a motor is not possible. This also applies to tandem pilots. We are often asked if the Annular 24 can be used for tandem flights, given the fact that your lift-off weight is below 160 kg. The answer is: yes - but in general a landing is not possible. You are bound to the passenger whatsoever.

Every reduction of descending speed is an unbeatable argument for saving yourself and your passenger from injuries. That is why we advise all tandem pilots to use the Annular 30 ( if the lift-off load exceeds 200 kg the Annular 36). Looking at the aerodynamic data, which was established concerning to the DHV-test for the Annular parachutes, you will find that the Annular 30 lies 40% above the maximum take-off load. So practically the descending speed is far below 6,8 m/s ( an estimated 25km/h = moped speed = jump from a height of 2.14m).

To cover all weight ranges we make the Annular in 6 different sizes up to 300 kg - safety without compromises.
