8.33kHz/25kHz VHF COM Airband Transceiver

The IC-A25CE 8.33kHz/25kHz VHF Airband transceiver is the latest radio from Icom. Its a cut-down version of its Big Brother, IC-A25NE, providing just COMMS and no NAV. It has 6 watts of output power, a stylish modern design, easy-to-use interface and large 2.3-inch LCD all combined to provide stress-free, simple in-flight operation. The 8.33kHz/25kHz handportable is ideal for customers who want a no-nonsense easy to use radio.

2.3-inch Large High Visibility LCD
The large, high contrast, highly visible LCD provides good readability, even under direct sunlight. The operating frequency is displayed in large characters so that it can be recognised at a glance. In addition, the night mode option allows for easy viewing in low light conditions.

Easy-to-use Interface
Often used functions are assigned to the ten-key pad and you can directly access the desired function. The enlarged flat sheet keypad offers smooth and swift operation.

1.8 / 6 Watts Selectable High RF Output Power
For expanded communication coverage, output power has been increased to approximately 6 W typical (PEP) 1.8 W (carrier) compared to the IC-A24E (5/1.5 W (PEP/carrier)).

Flip-Flop Channel Recall
The IC-A25CE stores the last ten channels used. You can easily recall those channels by using the directional keys, the channel knob or the keypad. This is convenient for switching between several channels. You can also freely edit (replace, delete, and change order) the stored recall channels.

Intelligent Battery
The supplied BP-288, 2350 mAh typical intelligent battery pack, provides up to 10.5 hours* of operating time. You can check the condition of the battery pack in the battery status screen. This is very useful for optimum charging and battery health maintenance.

Large alphanumeric LCD
An easy to read a 6-character 14-segment alphanumeric LCD displays a variety of information clearly. Both the display and keypad are backlit, which is a very useful feature for use at night time.

25kHz/8.33kHz dual channel spacing
In addition to the widely used 25kHz channel spacing the IC-A24E/A6E are also compatible with 8.33kHz channel spacing.

Channel recall function
The new channel recall function automatically memorizes the last 10 used channels. You can easily recall those channels by pushing the recall buttons on the front panel. This makes it very convenient for switching between several channels at a time, such as NAV channels and COM channels.

Simultaneous operation and charge from external power source
The IC-A24E has an external DC power jack that allows operation with the optional CP-20 cigarette lighter cable with DC-DC converter. This means that a battery pack can be simultaneously charged during operation.

Dedicated 121.5MHz emergency key
A dedicated red emergency key programmed with a 121.5MHz homing frequency is equipped to give you extra confidence in the event of an emergency.

VOR navigation function
The IC-A25NE has VOR navigation functions. The DVOR mode shows the radial to (or from) a VOR station and the CDI mode shows the course deviation to (or from) a VOR station. You can also input your intended radial to (or from) a VOR station and show the course deviation on the display.

Notice for use
The IC-A25CE / IC-A25NE complies with requirements of the European Radio and Telecommunication Terminal Directive 1999/5/EC and is RTTE and CE approved. At present full approval for air use is not attainable for this product or any other product at this level in the market place. Therefore, IC-A24E & A6E are both intended for use in Europe for ground use only*.

Under the Wireless and Telegraphy Act of 2006 this radio can be used for emergency communication and navigation (VOR) should your life be at risk.

*Unless an Aviation body in an EU member state gives dispensation for it to be used in the air.
