After three years of development, with Italian styling by Daniel Valsesia, Digifly is pleased to introduce the Digifly AIR.
For 2018, the Digifly AIR is sold in 2 versions:
- AIR BT (Bluetooth) £439.00
- AIR BT (Bluetooth) with Integrated ASI (pitot tube) £540.00
The software on the Air SE model can be upgraded to the Air BT: £37.00
The Air was conceived for competitors, it is a top of the range, high-resolution display, integrated vario.
Its shape is optimized for maximum strength; the display offers the best visibility in bright light conditions and has four big operative keys ensure the best accessibility even wearing thick gloves.
Both Air models are availble both with two optional special order (factory order only) choices:
- Pilots can ask for the installation of the factory fit integrated ASI (pitot tube).
- Optional installation of the optional GSM-GPRS module (needed for the internal Live Tracking).
ASI (pitot tube)
The ASI is very sensitive and is suitable for speeds flown by both hang gliding and paragliding.
Bluetooth
The Digifly AIR is equipped with a 4th generation Bluetooth processor able to communicate with mobiles device, e.g. a smartphone on which you can install the free Live Tracking App: XC Soar.
99 Channel GPS
The Digifly AIR is entirely designed, engineered and manufactured in Italy. It uses state of the art processors and sensors, including: a 99-channel anti jam GPS unit, updated 10 times per second. The AIR also features a new platform that provides an even more accurate evaluation of the winds direction, improves the sensitivity of the variometer, acts as a G-force meter for acro pilots and allows you to get more precise information from the magnetic compass even at high bank angles of the wing.
5D Task Management
The AIR has a high-visibility grayscale display, with a new design that makes it easy a 5D task management. The 5D (Digifly trade mark), is based on an ingenious graphic design and comes from the fusion of 2D and 3D visualizations, allowing the pilot to check at a glance the needed glide ratio and best goto glide during the task; but, this new graphic design will also help the non-competitors to have an immediate idea of needed glide ratio to reach the nearest safe landing.
Customisable Display
The display layout is fully customizable also thru PC-Mac simply 'drag and dropping' the preferred functions, or even transferring them from a micro SD card or via BT from AIR to AIR. You will be able to download the new VLTools AIR software to manage the AIRs tasks, waypoints, tracks and display configurations. The fast, efficient and AIRs software, comes from the Digiflys know-how gained during years of competition support. It is designed in distinct blocks that facilitates instrument setup, entering waypoints and task setting.
Free Firmware Updates
The high resolution display, the large internal memory and the spare computing capability, plus as with all of Digiflys instruments, future firmware updates will be free, making the AIR a perfectly tuned AIR-tool!
